A Little Help, Please - Un Aiutino, Porfa

I am in the USA with mind and body, but my heart is in Guatemala, with the HIV children that there are in the hogar. So I decided to share the pictures of some of them here and to ask you two things. Thing number one: I love them dearly, can you please help them? You can donate at the bank account that follows, they always need money for medicines and food and now a new car to take them to the doctor; and your contribution will be more than happily accepted. Second thing that I would like to ask is, if you live in the Como area and would like to host one of the oldest children for a summer, just let me know, okay? You could really make somebody's day. Sono negli USA con testa e corpo, ma il cuore l'ho lasciato in Guatemala, ai bambini malati di AIDS che c'erano nell'hogar. Quindi ho deciso di condividere le foto di alcuni di loro con voi e di chiedervi due cose. Cosa numero uno: io li adoro, potete aiutarli per favore? Se volete potete fare una donazione al numero di conto che segue, hanno sempre bisogno di soldi per le medicine, per il cibo e ora per una nuova macchina per portarli all'ospedale; e qualsiasi donazione, non importa quanto piccola o grande, sara' accettata con immensa gratitudine. Keyla. How old do you think she is? She is two, and can't walk or talk due to a congenital disease, but she loves to be carried around and see what the others are up to out of the nursery. - Keyla. Quanti anni pensate che abbia? Ne ha solo due, e non puo' camminare o parlare per colpa di una malattia congenita, ma adora quando la si porta in giro a vedere che fanno gli altri bambini fuori dall'infermeria.

Diana. She is one year and a half, she is one of the most beautiful children I have ever seen in all my life. Here she had just poured a bowl of pasta on her head. - Diana. Ha due anni ed e' una delle bambine piu' belle che io abbia mai visto. Qui si era appena rovesciata una scodella di pasta sulla testa.

Adelina. Super intelligent little girl of only six years old. She is deaf and mute, but she can be understood better than many other children when she wants something. - Adelina. Bambina super intelligente di sei anni. E' sordo-muta, ma quando vuole qualcosa la si capisce meglio di molti altri bambini.

Julio. He is one of the oldest children. He lost his dad last year. - Julio. Uno dei piu' vecchi. Ha perso il papa' l'anno scorso.

Jose Pablo. One of the youngest, only 7 months old and is being tested to see if he has AIDS too. - Jose Pablo. Uno dei piu' piccoli, solo 7 mesi e lo stanno testando per vedere se anche lui e' malato.

Maria del Mar. She is 10 months old. Her 15-year-old mother abandoned her at the hogar. She looks like a doll and laughs all the time. - Maria del Mar. Ha dieci mesi. La sua mamma, che ha solo 15 anni, l'ha abbandonata nell'hogar. Sembra una bambola e ride tutto il tempo.

Linda. She arrived when I was there. This picture was taken two weeks later: the first day that she she wasn't crying and screaming for help. - Linda. E' arrivata all'hogar quando c'ero io. Questa foto l'ho scattata dopo due settimana, il primo giorno che non ha pianto e gridato aiuto tutto il tempo.

Yesenia. Another one of the oldest. She is alone in the world. - Yesenia. Un'altra delle piu' vecchie. E' sola al mondo.

Roxana. She is 12 and one of the first children to arrive at the hogar. - Roxana. Ha 12 anni e fu una delle prime bambine ad arrivare all'hogar.

Jennie. She is six. One of the sweetest children there. It was her birthday last week, but she didn't say anything at all and nobody celebrated. - Jennie. Sei anni. Una delle bambine piu' dolci che ci sono nell'hogar. Era il suo compleanno la settimana scorsa, ma non ha detto niente e nessuno ha celebrato.

Abimael. He is five, but looks and weights as if he were two. - Abimael. Ha cinque anni, ma sembra e pesa come uno di due.

Lucero. She is eight. She is autistic and has some minor mental problems. - Lucero. Ha otto anni. E' autistica ed ha problemi mentali.

Paula. The first baby to be accepted in the hogar, when she was only eight months old. Now she is six, chatty and incredibly intelligent. - Paula. La prima bebe' ad essere accettata nell'hogar, quando aveva solo otto mesi. Ora ha sei anni, e parla tantissimo oltre ad essere incredibilmente intelligente.
